Why it works here

Why a calm and focus tool helps with for a provider between sessions

Clinician burnout is a workload problem rather than a resilience problem, and most wellbeing advice assumes time nobody has. A short tool that fits into the gap that actually exists is more useful than a strategy that requires an hour.

You will recognize this if

  • You go from session to session without any reset.
  • You are more depleted by the end of the week each term.
  • Your own regulation strategies are the first thing you drop.
What the research says

Documentation burden is a recognized driver of burnout among behavior analysts and allied clinicians, and it competes directly with any time set aside for recovery.

The setup

How to set it up for the gap between sessions

Takes about five minutes. Use it as written, or keep only the steps your family needs. A short setup that gets used beats a complete one that gets abandoned in week two.

  1. 1 Use the first three minutes of the gap, before notes
  2. 2 Keep headphones in the room so there is no setup cost
  3. 3 Use the same point in the day rather than when you feel worst
  4. 4 Eyes closed, away from the screen
  5. 5 Treat it as part of the workday rather than something extra
  6. 6 Stop if it does not suit you, rather than persisting on principle
The mistake most families make

Leaving it until you feel depleted enough to justify it means it never happens, because by then the gap has been spent on documentation.

In the app

Built into the routine, not bolted onto it.

The Resyna and Calm Tools lives inside the same routine your child already follows, so the gap between sessions is a step with a visible length rather than a separate tool somebody has to remember to open.

  • Attach it to any step in any routine
  • Works for pre-readers, gestalt language processors, and AAC users
  • Same setup at home, at school, and in therapy

Common questions

About the gap between sessions

Is three minutes long enough to matter?
It is long enough to be worth doing and short enough to actually happen. Consistency matters more than duration here.
Can I use it with a client in the room?
That is a clinical judgment for you to make. Some clinicians use the calming tools with clients, which is a different use from personal reset.
Does this address burnout?
Not on its own, and it would be dishonest to suggest otherwise. Caseload, documentation load, and supervision are the structural drivers.

Resyna and VizyPlan's Calming Frequency are wellness tools designed to support relaxation. They are not a medical device and are not medical advice. They do not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and they are not a substitute for care from a qualified professional. Start with just 2 to 5 minutes at a comfortable volume and build up gradually. If you feel any discomfort, dizziness, or unease, stop right away. If you are pregnant, or you or your child has epilepsy, a seizure disorder, or a heart condition, please check with your doctor before use. Do not operate heavy machinery after listening. Use of the heart-guided calm score requires a paired Apple Watch with heart-rate and health sharing enabled. The calm score is a relaxation-feedback indicator only. It is not a diagnosis, a fitness metric, or a measure of your health. Resyna does not monitor for, detect, or alert you to arrhythmias, heart conditions, or any other medical issue, and it should never be relied on for that purpose. If you have any health concern, contact a qualified medical professional.
